I think in some ways curiosity is a better indicator of commitment than actual commitment, if you catch my drift. A scholar who is always curious will never lack commitment -- and it's not just commitment for commitment's sake either.

This was such an interesting look into how academia has changed over a decade. Thanks for writing it.
